Here are my highlights from London Fashion Week Fall 2015 RTW
Marios Schwab
These dresses are hauntingly beautiful and definitely dramatic. The details, in particular, the metal and leather made the inner anatomy outwardly beautiful. This was one of my favorite collections.
Emilia Wickstead
Emilia Wickstead’s dress is pattern perfection. Not only is it graphic, but the draping and placement of pattern delivers a dramatic and flattering silhouette.
Erdem
Erdem’s collections are always colorful, feminine and full of richly interesting fabrics. This collection was no exception. The classic lines of this dress allowed the graphic print to make the typically Erdem statement. The purple lace sheer evening gown was a most unlikely mix of a very contemporary bodice with very Elizabethan ruffling detail, which was simply perfection.
Burberry Prorsum
Queen wrote the song titled ”Bohemian Rhapsody”. This would have been a perfect name for Burberry Prorsum’s collection! The fringed cape coat was the stand out, especially when in motion, as all the layers undulated.
Osman
Texture and shape made this evening dress from Osman a stand out in the collection. This dress made solely of beaded circles and illusion fabric was a minimalistic marvel.
Gareth Pugh
Gareth Pugh always brings the edge, execution (And some do look like medieval executioners) and elegance to his collection. The jacket made of black straws was evocative of a Raven. The plumes- straws’ motion was truly a flight of fancy. Was this nod to Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven? I am sure if Poe were alive, he would have been in the front row.
Antonio Berardi
This Antonio Berardi dress is color-blocking excellence. I always enjoy his juxtaposition of different colors and of colors and patterns. Although this is the quieter piece of the collection it got my loudest applause.
