Turquoise is one of my favorite colors. It reminds me of the blue sky of summer and the various shades of blue in the Ocean. Turquoise spans many shades from a pale blue to teal to green. The stone often has black or brown accents. I love wearing the color Turquoise, especially in the summertime. It adds a pop of color to any outfit, is flattering on any skin tone, and is easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. The stone has been prevalent in so many countries and cultures from: Ancient Egypt, China, and Turkey to Native American and Aztec cultures. After all it was believed to usher in good fortune. Native American cultures believe that sky blue gemstone opens up a direct connection between the sky and the sea. Even if it’s just the color Turquoise and not the gemstone, lets carry on that lovely sentiment!
It is a really pretty pop of color that goes with any other color. I can’t name a color that Turquoise does not go with, so it is a great staple to have in your wardrobe and collect. An easy way to start to incorporate this into your wardrobe is either with Accessories, Shoes or Handbags. For a Necklace, try the Kenneth Jay Lane Layered Necklace or the Kate Spade Pave The Way Long Pendant Necklace. The Tory Burch Tacher Cuff Bracelet, the Emilio Pucci Cuff Bracelet with Turquoise, and the Lele Sadoughi Tall stackable bangle are all stunning. I love a nice statement ring and this Jennifer Meyer Double Dome Ring in Yellow Gold and Turquoise is reminiscent of a Vintage Cocktail Ring. All make a statement and are easy to grab, put on and go! For a dash of color on your feet, the Gucci Thong Sandal, the Loretta Pettinari Sandals or the Miu Miu Floral Brocade Wedge Sandals are great choices. A Handbag is another great way to start to add Turquoise to your wardrobe. The Chloe Jade Leather Medium ‘Paraty’ Convertible Satchel or the Kate Spade New York Cedar Street Small Hayden Satchel are both colorful and chic. Time to go out and need to grab a clutch…Grab the Kotur Snakeskin Clutch or the Alexander McQueen ‘Britannia Skull’ Box Clutch.
That being said, you can also wear Turquoise clothing. Here are some great clothing items, such as The Stella Jean Blue Cotton Printed Modesto Tube Skirt, which is from one of my favorite designers or this Missoni Zigzag Poncho, or wear Turquoise to the beach with this Adriana Degreas printed braided bikini.
