Tory Burch’s collections are always a successful fine mix of ethnic patterns made into extremely feminine and interesting takes on classic shapes. The designer said that her inspiration for this collection was Françoise Gilot, who was an artist in her own right, as well as, a lover and muse of Pablo Picasso. Burch’s collection gives us a glimpse of a woman who is refined, on the move, and an independent spirit; she has a great love of pattern, while being effortlessly chic. The juxtaposition of primitive prints and ladylike silhouettes works here. Tory always has terrific textiles, which I believe is a key element to transforming these classic shapes into interesting statement pieces, which combine well.
